Obituary for Clyde Daniel Boydston

Honoring His Life
“Thank you Dad for the love and laughter.”
Clyde Daniel Boydston affectionately known as “Daniel or Danny” was born in Burlingame, Kansas on February 15, 1926. He was the son of Clyde W. Boydston and Marguerite Gardenhire Boydston.
Danny passed away on Friday, January 26, 2018 and is now on a victorious and eternal journey home with the Heavenly Father.  A destination we will all encounter one day, Danny has now entered into the spiritual realm. We were blessed to have his smile, chuckled at one of his infamous jokes and experience his viewpoint as he shared his  political commentary.  He loved to read and enjoyed his music. Danny was an avid Jazz enthusiast who loved Count Basie. During the summer months Danny cultivated a bountiful garden and he was known for his generosity. People eagerly anticipated the harvest of Danny's vegetables. His dedication to his garden brought forth joy to countless people over and over again.
Danny began his professional career by being a waiter on the Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad.  Later, Danny served his country during WWII as a firefighter where he was recognized for exemplary performance while in the service.  As a firefighter in the service he received a Victory Medal, Eastern African-Middle Eastern Theater Ribbon 1 Bronze Battle Star, 2 Overseas Service bars,  an Army of Occupation Medal Germany and Good Conduct Medal.  After his tour with the service, Danny worked for the United States Postal Service until he retired and also served on the Postal Credit Union board. He graduated from Washburn University with a Bachelors degree in Political Science.
Danny married the former Dorothy Fugett in 1946. She passed away on March 21, 2010 after 64 years of marriage. Now they are reunited in the spiritual realm with our Father in Heaven.  Danny has been a faithful member of Ashbury Mount Olive United Methodist Church for over 62 years .  He said that the Sunday Morning Breakfast was the greatest.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy; son, Marvin Davis Sr. and his parents, Clyde and Marguerite Boydston. He leaves to cherish his memory, his daughters, Marguerite Boydston, Vacaville, CA. and Resa (Darrel) Gross, Topeka, KS.; grandchildren, Jean Hooks, Vacaville, CA., and Sylvia Guerrero, Topeka, KS.; sisters, Thelma Boydston, Maryland and Lenora Virginia B. Durante, Vacaville, CA. along with a host of other relatives and friends.
